We have been working on getting the design details finalized for the office. We put together an inspiration board for the office. You will soon learn that we love to DIY (do-it-yourself)…like in the fact that we would almost rather die than have to pay someone else to do it…
…we are learning that there is too much to do all on our own….but that’s a post for another day.
For the design of the office, we had an idea of how we wanted the feel to be…now it’s time to bring it all together and make it look AND feel cohesive.
We want the space to feel bright and open. It definitely has to have a warm inviting feel. We don’t want it to feel cold like some doctors offices.
This is where we’re at so far.
We were in IKEA recently and saw their green velvet pillow covers. Our eyes lit up and we knew that that green needed to be in our office.
Then…while we were at West Elm, picking up these chairs for the office, we fell in love with a green velvet that they sell….and they both happen to be a very similar green.

We found our accent color!
The next step was to find that green color in paint….Sherwin Willimas Cascade. It’s a beautiful dark greenish blue…so pretty.
The main accent color of the office will be this color and will be brought in through decor and furniture accents. The walls will all be pure white.
The cabinet color is still up for debate. We love white….but white gets dirty and can look grungy. We are loving the new trend back toward taupe so that decision will have to come later.
The floors will be a wood look vinyl plank…except the bathroom, which will be black and white penny tile.
We will be bringing in more natural elements with leather accents and some live plants….free air purifiers for the win!
We are so excited to start seeing everything come together…crosssing our fingers that DIYing this part pays off (:
