We wanted to give you a quick office update on how things are moving along.

What is going on at the office?

When we were interviewing contractors and deciding who to pick we were blown away by how responsive and flexible George was from Big Tree Construction.  We called and asked him to meet us…thinking it would be for a different day.  He told us he could come right over.  We ended up picking Big Tree and so far we are so happy with how things are going.

Construction officially started about three weeks ago. The first thing they did was cut out a channel of the concrete on the floor to install the underground plumbing.  Once the new pipes were installed they poured new concrete over the top to cover it up.

They then began the framing and above ceiling fire sprinklers.  Seeing where the actual walls are going to go gets us all excited.

What is happening behind the scenes?

This past week has been all about researching what computer we need for the office and figuring out what computer specs we need…we had no idea there were so many different options. From solid-state drives to workstation computers to servers….our heads are spinning.  Luckily we have some Dr friends who have been in our shoes and can help us navigate through all of it.

We are also starting to purchase some fun furnishings for the office.  We purchased some waiting chairs from West Elm and will be heading down to Vegas to pick them up soon…eeekk!

We also bought the prettiest indigo rug to go in the optical/waiting area.  Cannot wait to show it to you!

The last big thing happening behind the scenes right now is determining what frame brands we want to partner with to bring into the office.

In the beginning, we were torn between big box frame manufactures versus small business high-quality frames.  After meeting with A TON of frame brands and seeing it all we are excited to mainly be working with smaller frame brands.  We love the small business feel and super good customer service that many of these brands offer.  Now we have the task of picking out 450-500 frames for the office..anyone want to come help us!

The bottom line is… it’s a TON of work.  We could not do it alone. We feel so blessed to have people willing to help us and hold us accountable for keeping this thing moving forward and making this happen.

Having people in your corner is essential in making progress.  People who are invested in you and willing to share their knowledge.  It doesn’t matter if you are a mom or a business owner or both. Find someone who you can motivate and who will motivate you right back is SOOO important.
